PostHeaderIcon What can I do

Thank you for your concern for Hannah Overton and for justice.   If you are convinced of Hannah's innocence, or have serious doubts about whether justice was served, is imperative for you to take action.

Taking all the steps below may take an hour of your time, but consider this: Hannah Overton has a LIFE SENTENCE WITHOUT PAROLE due to this miscarriage of justice.  Take whatever steps you can.  Your letters will make a difference.

  1. Write a letter to the editor of the Corpus Christi Caller Times --  click the "Senior Management" tab on the contact form, then to select the radio button next to "Shane Fitzgerald" or "Patrick Birmingham":  http://www.caller.com/contactus/

Sample letter:

I am writing to demand true justice for Hannah Overton.  Recent objective media coverage suggests that she was wrongly convicted.  As a citizen concerned about justice and families, I demand that her sentence be overturned or that she be granted a new trial.   Our democracy hinges on our faith in our justice system, which is based on the principle that the accused is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.   That principle was clearly absent in this case.

  1. Write the governor's representative -- Dede Keith -- http://www2.governor.state.tx.us/contact/  or Office of the Governor, P.O. Box 12428, Austin, Texas 78711 Please use respectful language and be brief.
  1. Write the Texas Attorney General's office This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or  Texas Attorney General, P.O. Box 12548, Austin, Texas 78711-2548

  1. Write the District Attorney's office in Corpus Christi -- http://www.co.nueces.tx.us/feedback_form.asp?SendTo=12  Or mail them at Nueces District Attorney; 901 Leopard St.; Corpus Christi, Texas 78401  Remind them that "It shall be the primary duty of all prosecuting attorneys, including any special prosecutors, not to convict, but to see that justice is done."
  1. Comment on the national ABC news site if you have not done so alreadyhttp://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=6079830&page=1
  1. Comment on the Corpus Christi ABC affiliate news site: http://www.kiiitv.com/news/local/33269409.html
  1. File a complaint with the Texas State Bar Association. File a complaint against the District Attorney of Corpus Christi, Carlos Valdez, and the prosecuting attorney, Sandra Eastwood.  Valdez violated the judge’s gag order and made false statements to the media.  Eastwood perjured herself in the November 15, 2007 hearing where she under oath swore that Dr. Cortes never expressed his view that Andrew Burg's death was accidental.  Her withholding of that information is a Brady violation.    Get a grievance form here: http://www.texasbar.com/Template.cfm?Section=Client_Attorney_Assistance&Template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=3961  Mailing address: Texas State Bar Association, Texas Law Center, P.O. PostHeaderIcon Who are we

This site is not sponsored by Calvary Chapel of the Coastlands but by those that know Hannah and Larry Very well and love them very much. We have the right and obligation to stand up against injustice. We have had to stand by for a year waiting for Justice only to see Lies poured out in the media all of which were shown for what they are in court. with no ability to cry foul because of Gag orders that WE obeyed.

PostHeaderIcon Letter to Pat Robertson

Dear Pastor Pat Robertson,

I’m writing to you as a confused and wounded pastor. As you have heard, a woman in our church (Hannah Overton) has been found guilty of murder because she failed to act quickly enough to prevent her sick child from dying.  Now she is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole.  She has five children including an infant who has had to be weaned suddenly due to the recent conviction.  The same officials responsible for this injustice are bound and determined to put her husband in jail for life next month.
The tragedy is that she acted as any normal parent would have, under the circumstances, to treat the child’s symptoms as they developed.  After these efforts failed Hannah immediately rushed him to the hospital.
Andrew attended our church with Sharon his foster mother for 2½ years.  He was in the process of being adopted through the foster care system.  From ages 2 to 4½ he caused quite a stir in our Children’s Church.  He had eating problems and a fixation with food common among foster children.  His birth mother abused numerous drugs while pregnant with Andrew, and he was removed from her because of physical abuse and neglect.
